The infected mother can transmit to the fetus and cause a congenital infection.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Symptoms<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Approximately 50% of patients will not develop symptoms and will only be diagnosed by laboratory tests. Venereal syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection that, without treatment, evolves in different stages that are characterized by the duration and location of the infection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Early syphilis is characterized by the appearance of a single indurated and painless chancre with a clean base, defined and raised borders and an anogenital location (penis, vulva or cervix).<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Detection<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">At Bioclinic Laboratories, the PCR test is performed from urine by highly trained personnel, with the highest quality standards.
